Asylum Silk Roads is a collaborative community art project which has involved about 100 refugees, migrants and people seeking asylum in Greater Melbourne. Participants took part in free stencil workshops over the last 6 months, contributing towards the large textile work on display at Dock Gallery. This textile, Asylum Silk Roads, represents our journey to connect people and challenge ourselves creatively.
*Asylum Silk Roads is assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body, and is also supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria.*
